New officers

We had added new officers to the roster. Linklock joined us last week as an officer. He has been a long time and welcome addition to the guild.

Elema is a new addition to the guild, but he has raided with us on Terrë's character many times and has raid led us several times. He is an excelllent player who is known in real life to a few officers. He has just come over from the horde after a big bribe. :-)

Also, it's his fault this guild exists in the first place, so blame him.

We now have a few competitions for our guild members on our forum, i urge our members to register and get an invite to the forums.

Talk with one of the officers to so you can be added to the right group so you can see the competition section.

One of our officers has just been hacked and has removed several people and their alts from the guild.

If you have found that you have been removed or know anyone else who has been, please whisper a Scion and ask them to get an officer to reinvite you, or whisper Terrë, Raistlinx, Mithos, Eagle, Cepio, Ketyor, Yajas or Foxynight for a reinvite.

Vent payment update

Many thanks to all those who made contributions.

We now have enough in the account to cover the bill with a little left over that will be carried forward to the next bill in 6 months.

Next time around I'll post a little earlier and spam guild chat. I'm hoping that we can get more people contributing smaller amounts. That way the burden is shared more equally amongst members.

Once more, thanks for the contributions and happy venting :-)

Vnetrilo Payment Due

The next invoice has been generated on our ventrilo account. 
 
I've previously been paying for this entirely by myself, but hostventrilo have now ceased doing the special offer that meant that I could buy us a 40-slot server for the price of a 20-slot server. 
 
The cost of a 40-slot server is now $91.80 for six months and I'm unable to justify spending that to the rest of my family, especially when I get so much grief from them already for spending almost every evening on WoW instead of with them! 
 
So, I'm requesting help with paying for the ventrilo server. 
 
The invoice is due on 24th July, so if I could ask everyone to make a small contribution (a few dollars) to the account balance as soon as possible that would be great.

Thorim and Hodir down

Last night our progressive Ulduar team went into Ulduar and, after 2 goes on Hodir, finally everything went perfectly. We not only got Hodir down, we got 2 achievements out of it, having not let our NPC's die and no one getting caught by flash freeze.

Bolstered by our success, we then went into Thorim and had a few goes. Some swapping of the separate teams was needed to get the right balance, but we got Thorim down on the fourth try.

As a reward, before raid end, we then had a ride on the train towards Mimiron, which was loads of fun.

Repairs for Raiders

Following a discussion with officers last night, we have decided on the following.

Anyone who joins in with a progression raid (Naxx 25, Ulduar, etc) will be granted the temporary rank of progressive raider until the raid is over. This means that you will be able to use the guild bank for repairs up to the cost of 100g.

So please sign up and turn up for your chance to progress and let the guild take the repair costs.

Please remember, if a 10 man raid is put up and 20-25 people sign up, the raid will be converted to a heroic raid. This means better loot and better progression for yourself and for Scions.

We have become a little more strict with our raiding rules. The main change is the sign up required and times of invites.

Please read the updates on the guild info section of the forum. There is also a rough outline on the guild info section of the ingame log, although because of lack of space, it is very short.

Guilds all over the world have problems getting 25 man raids together during the summer holidays, therefore, we will give 25 man raiding a break for a month or so and concentrate on 10 man raids only - unless 25 people sign up, then, of course, we are very much willing to change to a 25 man raid instead.

Knut has been busy this week sending out a newsletter to every member of the guild. It is still in beta form, but he wants you to mail him with any achievments, major dings or news you might have. Please read it.

Please mail him with news in game rather than putting it on the forum.

And please check out the forum every day. It only takes 10 mins of your time. If you are not registered for the guild only section of the forum, please let an officer know and they will add you.
